Land Lines and the Cell Phones
Alexander Graham Bell was awarded the first U.S. patent for the invention of the telephone in 1876, Motorola was the first company to produce a handheld mobile phone. On April 3, 1973, Martin Cooper, a Motorola researcher and executive, made the first mobile telephone call from handheld subscriber equipment, placing a call to Dr. Joel S. Engel of Bell Labs, his rival, Beginning the Rivalry between Land Lines and Cell Phones.
In the past 45 Years Cell Phones have increased in Capabilities taking over the Mobile Computing, Photography, and Filming, measuring & leveling with gyroscopes, Emails, bla bla bla bla bla……. I can keep going but we all know Cell Phones have become the center of most of our worlds. The Land line While in the Late 80’s did get some upgrades such as Caller I.D., Call Waiting, 3 way Calling, Answering Machines and then Voice mail. With the Invention of V.O.I.P. ( Voice Over Internet Protocol ) Land Lines were No longer Technically Land Lines but Function in the same manner.
